About Daisy Sun Beginnings

Daisy Sun Beginnings was created from a simple truth: new parents deserve the same tenderness and care they give their babies.

The early weeks after birth are full of beauty and transformation, but they can also feel tender and overwhelming. Through compassionate, hands-on support, I guide parents through this sacred transition with gentleness and respect for each family’s unique rhythm. From soothing newborns in the quiet hours to offering a listening ear when emotions run deep, every part of my care is rooted in the belief that nurture should extend to everyone in the home.

What I Offer

 FAQs

Hiring a postpartum doula is a new experience for many families, and it’s natural to have questions. Below are some of the most common ones I receive about overnight care, postpartum support, and how my role fits into your growing family. If there’s anything you’re still wondering, please don’t hesitate to reach out - I’m always happy to talk through what support may look like for you.

  • A postpartum doula provides gentle, practical, and emotional support for families after the birth of a baby. Unlike a medical professional, a doula doesn’t diagnose or treat - she nurtures, guides, and helps ease the transition into parenthood so that healing and bonding can unfold naturally. A doula provides compassionate listening, reassurance, focuses on parent’s well-being by preparing nourishing meals, encouraging rest, creating a cozy environment for healing, provides newborn care and education, offers evidence-based information on feeding, and can help the whole household adjust.

  • A night nurse or nanny primarily focuses on baby care. A postpartum doula supports the whole family.

  • My style of care is soft yet structured, warm, grounded, and intuitive. I believe postpartum care should feel like exhaling - a safe space to rest, recover, and simply be. I don’t come in to “take over,” but to walk beside you, encouraging you to trust yourself and move at your own pace. Families often describe my care as peaceful, thoughtful, and reassuring. I believe healing is both physical and emotional. I often weave in small, nurturing touches like herbal teas, gentle meal prep, warm snacks, and quiet conversation that helps parents feel seen. My goal is that when our time together ends, you feel deeply care for with a sense of calm that lasts long after I leave your home.

  • Every family’s needs are different. Some book a few weeks of support to help adjust after birth, while others prefer a longer-term plan for the first 2-3 months. Packages start at 50 hours and can be customized for the right amount of care and consistency for your family.

  • I provide in-home postpartum support to families in Richmond, Midlothian, Chesterfield, Petersburg, and surrounding counties. If you’re outside of this range feel free to reach out - I sometimes travel slightly depending on availability.

  • Many families reach out during the second or early third trimester to reserve their preferred dates. My calendar can fill up quickly, so the earlier you contact me, the better chance I have of aligning with your due date.

  • A retainer of 30% is due at contract signing to hold your dates. The remaining balance is due before services begin, or split into agreed-upon payment installments.
